Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I apply to join the Club?

Our team look at your details and the photos of the vehicle. Depending on the requirements, if you require Historical Registration, we need to confirm your vehicle is fit for the road. We then begin discussing with you pink slip and next steps for payment and registration with RTA.

Can anybody in New South Wales join the Club?

Yes! We accept all members from New South Wales. If you have an E-Series, begin the process and we can work with you and answer any questions you may have!

Do I need a pink slip every year for Registration?

For Historic Registration in NSW (Historic Vehicle Scheme, HVS):

  • No, you don’t need a pink slip every year.

  • Instead, each year you must renew using the Historic Vehicle Declaration (Form 1259), signed and stamped by your club, and take it to Service NSW.

For Classic Registration (CVS, modified vehicles):

  • Yes, you need a pink slip (eSafety check) every year, along with the signed declaration form.

You will only require a manual pink slip on the initial Registration of vehicles.

Does Historical Rego need a traditional Green Slip?

You do not need to purchase a Green Slip separately when applying for or renewing historic vehicle registration in NSW.

However, if your historic vehicle is conditionally registered (modified), your Green Slip (CTP insurance) is included in the registration fee.

Do I need to go the RTA to process the Registration?

Yes, After we’ve carefully reviewed your application, we’ll be in touch to let you know the outcome. If your application is successful, you’ll receive a full set of paperwork from us, along with the next steps to finalise your membership and get involved with the club.

Can I join the Club as a paid contributor?

Yes, You’re welcome to join as a club member, even if you don’t require Historic or Modified Registration. Membership helps support the club, our events, and merchandise orders. Our community is all about bringing people together, and we encourage everyone with a shared passion to get involved.

Are hub adapters legal and can be used on Historical/Classic vehicles?

No, if you are applying for Historical or Classic registration, you will be declined. You are welcome to join the club as a club member and run any wheel combo on your vehicle but we cannot approve any hub adapters for HVS/CVS as they do not meet the regulations set by New South Wales Government.
